What level do you register in when you have completed the Red Cross Swim Preschool or have turned 6 years old and are ready to enter the Red Cross Swim Kids program?

Swim Evaluations
Take the guessing game out of registration. In 10 minutes an instructor can assess your child’s skill level to be sure they are registered in the class that is right for them. This includes a drop-in single admission fee for the LRC. *Supervision requirements must still be met while accessing the facility

Private Swim Lessons
Get one-on-one individualized instruction! Private lessons are 30 minutes long and geared for swimmers in Red Cross Swim Kids 1-10 and the Adult & Teen Program. Recommended for students who need help with one or two skills.

Red Cross Swim Preschool
This is a 8-Level program for children 4 months to 5 years of age. Give your child the gift of water fun and swimming at an early age. Songs, games and introductory swimming skills will make your child comfortable and happy in the water.

Red Cross Swim Kids
This is a 10-level program for children 6 to 12 years of age. Help your child develop a healthy lifestyle through swimming. Your child will learn to swim and stay safe in a fun environment that promotes personal bests and celebrates individual success. Swim Kids 1-3 run for 30 minutes, Swim Kids 4-8 run for 45 minutes and Swim Kids 9-10 run for 60 minutes.

Red Cross AquaSquirts Program
Developed by Synchro Canada in partnership with the Red Cross, AquaSquirts is a play-based water-orientation program that helps develop swimming skills in kids from ages 5 to 10 years. The goal of this program is to become comfortable and familiar with shallow and deep water positions through fun skills such as jumping, rolling, spinning, twisting and turning upside down. The final class is a show put on by the swimmers demonstrating the skills they have learned.

Red Cross Adult & Teen Program
Swim Basics - If you are just starting to swim, this program will help you to increase your comfort and confidence in the water and help you build the skills necessary for swimming. Work with an instructor to set goals to develop your swimming skills through floats, glides, kicking and an introduction to strokes. Learn about water safety through treading water, diving and even minor rescue skills.
Swim Strokes - If you are looking to expand upon your swimming knowledge, this program will help you to develop your stroke(s), working towards proficiency and endurance. Work with an instructor to choose the strokes, set your goals and priorities, and keep track of your progress in a personal Swim Journal. If you are interested in training for a triathlon, this is the ideal course for you!

Swim Steps ---- Adapted Aquatics Program
This program is for children with a disability who may need Smaller Steps to meet their red cross learn to swim goals. Individualized instruction, goal setting, and a basic approach, along with tons of fun, will take you a few steps further to enjoying the wonderful world of water. Parents, aids or guardians are required in the water, to help support and encourage the child as they learn to swim.

Leadership Programs
Lifeguarding or Instructing is a very rewarding job choice that will prepare those interested for various customer relations and leadership roles they may seek out in the future. Skills such as first aid, communication with the public, teamwork and working under pressure are all learned and practiced frequently in the role of Lifeguard or Instructor. Both the Canadian Red Cross and Lifesaving Society offer a number of leadership programs that will help candidates become lifeguards and/or instructors.
Junior Club - Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 - 7:45pm
Senior Club - Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 - 7:45pm and Tuesday from 5:00 - 6:45pm
Leduc Stingrays Lifeguard Club
The Lifeguard Club is an exhilarating, educational swim club for any youth with the desire to have a terrific time in an aquatic setting. The Lifeguard Club works on swimming skills, as well as an introduction to water and dry land fitness. Participants develop team building skills, minor first aid responses and improved self-esteem, as well as participate in fun seasonal events (both local and provincial).

Aquatic Fitness Opportunities
Aquatic Fitness has become a growing trend in the exercise community, providing a fun, low impact workout that really gets results. The LRC Mix Family Aquatic Centre offers a variety of fitness opportunities for patrons of all ages, genders and skill levels. Whether it is learning to swim with the Red Cross swim program, getting you heart rate up in one of our Aquasize classes or fueling your competitive streak in Masters or Stingrays Lifeguard Club there is something for everyone. So come on out and take the plunge into aquatic fitness!






Scuba Course (SDI Certified)
This course gives you all the skills and experience you will need to do the four open water dives required for certification. If you are planning a sunny getaway take your certification course here and complete your dives in tropical waters or try out local spots like Twin Lakes or Banff!

From September to June the LRC Mix Family Aquatic Centre provides Red Cross swim lessons to Leduc Schools and Leduc County Schools. If you are the teacher, parent, caregiver or guardian of a child who will be participating in our School Swimming Lesson please read the following information.
